Public consultation on EIS (European Interoperability Strategy)
[10/03/2010]
Everyone interested in interoperability within the context of public service delivery is cordially invited to send suggestions aiming at contributing to the implementation of the European Interoperability Strategy.
Objective of the consultation
In 2009 the European Commission has been working on the elaboration of the European Interoperability Strategy for European Public Services in close cooperation with the concerned Commission services and with the Members States as well as with the Candidate Countries and EEA Countries as observers.
The main objectives of the European Interoperability Strategy for European Public Services are:
• to identify commonalties and areas of shared interest at Member State and EU level
• to establish consensus around a strategic action plan for interoperability, to be implemented in the coming years by both the Member States and the Commission.
The consultation closes on the 6th April and is available here:
http://ec.europa.eu/idabc/en/document/7854
it is planned that the European Interoperability Strategy will be an annex to a Communication on interoperability and European Public Services from the Commission to the Council and to the European Parliament.
